The “Parent Advisory Council” or PAC is a vital part of each of our schools, and will be integral in creating a strong school community at SĆIȺNEW SṮEȽIṮḴEȽ Elementary. As this is a new school, we are creating a PAC this spring. It is an exciting opportunity to be a part of something new and to help create new traditions for our school. If you are interested in getting involved, please contact Camille McFarlane at cmcfarlane@sd62.bc.ca
What positions are on a PAC Executive?
PAC Executives can have a variety of positions however in order for a PAC to be formed and run each year, it must have a President, Secretary, and Treasurer.
How often does the PAC meet?
The PAC meets each month with the PAC Executive and the Principal and/or Vice Principal. This is a public meeting and all members of the PAC (all parents/guardians in the school) are invited to attend as well.
What does the PAC do?
This group of dedicated caregivers meet once a month to discuss school issues, liaise between families and school staff, coordinate special events, and help raise funds to enhance our children’s education. Some PACs choose to provide options such as hot lunch or pizza days, or other regular activities. This will be dependent on the PAC.
